Held in the spring, for 2 credits, this is a study of historical work in Epidemiology including Snow, Panum, Goldberger, and comparison o these with recent epidemiologic research. It is letter graded based upon 2-3 projects and a 15 minute presentation. |

Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases (26-BE-784) |
Held in winter quarter, for 2 credits, this course presents epidemiological, serologic, and public health aspects of modern infectious diseases, their transmission and methods of control. It is letter graded based upon attendance and a written and oral presentation. |

Ethics in Research (26-950-730) |
Held in the winter, for 1 credit, this is a seminar dealing with ethical issues in clinical research. Grading is P/F based upon attendance. |

Identification of Potential Workplace Exposures (26-EIH-904) |
Held in the fall, winter, and spring, for 3 credits, on Thursdays from 8-5, this is field trips to representative industrial plants to illustrate principles of industrial operations, and methods employed in controlling physical and chemical hazards. It is letter graded based upon attendance and preparing detailed industrial hygiene report on 5 visited sites. Permission of instructor needed. |

Introduction to Occupational Health (26-EIH-781) |
Held in Fall Quarter, for 1 credit, on Wednesdays 8:30 -9:30, this consists of principles, philosophies, basic concepts of occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, safety, nursing and Epidemiology and their interrelationship. It is letter graded based upon attendance and a final course critique. |

Occupational and Environmental Law (26-OCCM-879) |
Offered every year in the spring for 1 credit. This course presents an overview of important medico-legal issues in the areas of: ADA, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation law, Toxic Tort litigation, OSHA regulations, etc. |

Held in the fall for 3 credits, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-12:15. This is an introduction to occupational safety engineering. |

Occupational Safety Team (29-ANCH-815) |
Held in the fall for 1 credit, on Tuesday from 11 am to 12 noon. This is a multidisciplinary seminar taught by occupational health nursing , safety6 engineering and industrial hygiene. |

Public Policy and Environmental Health (26-ENV-750) |
Held in the winter, for 2 credits, on Wednesdays from 4-6, this course covers the community attitudes and political limits that impact on scientific information and determine public health policy are addressed, specifically covering health services design and administrative issues. It is letter graded based upon attendance and an written and oral presentation. |
